Announcement!
We’ve recently finished the paper that is the result of all our research and outreach with social enterprises and NGOs. The findings in this paper will form the foundation from which WPI moves forward to engage with social enterprises and local NGOs to co-create collaborative and networked ecosystems that elevate their respective impact. If you’d like to read the findings, you can find the paper here:
We are in the process of looking for appropriate outlets to publish this paper. If you, or an entity you know of, might be interested in publishing the piece then please do get in touch at nicholas.lyall@wickedproblemsinitiative.org .
The Wicked Problems Initiative
What we are: Currently, we’re a research project that is engaging with private sector social change entities to determine how WPI can help co-create development problem-solving ecosystems that connect third sector knowledge with private sector impact and empower the private sector social change industry through increased cross-sectoral coordination and collaboration
Our mission: To empower the private sector social change industry with the knowledge resources and direction to more effectively move the needle on wicked problems in global affairs
Our vision: For the private sector social change industry to be driven by a network paradigm that enables better informedness, coordination, collaboration and thus potency against the ‘systems’ of wicked problems
“A wicked problem is a social or cultural problem that is difficult or impossible to solve for as many as four reasons: incomplete or contradictory knowledge, the number of people and opinions involved, the large economic burden, and the interconnected nature of these problems with other problems.”
